Rickey Redd, 33, of Oxon Hill, is facing multiple murder charges in connection to the February death of 38-year-old Andra Sweeper, who was found dead in an apartment, according to investigators from the Prince George’s County Police Department.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, officers were called to an apartment in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive, where there were calls regarding an unresponsive woman - later identified as Sweeper - inside suffering from traumatic injuries.

She was pronounced dead in the apartment by first responders.

During the investigation, officials say that detectives collected items at Sweeper’s home, and DNA testing later linked Redd to the murder after the two met online.

Redd was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and “related charges” for the incident. He is being held in the custody of the Department of Corrections without bond.

No information about an initial court appearance has been announced.
